Founder and President Josephine Rossi directs Content Communicators’ operations, working with team members and clients to ensure high-quality custom content that exceed expectations. She currently acts as publisher and editor for several magazines custom published by Content Communicators for clients, developing content strategies that address readers’ needs while also fulfilling each publication’s financial objectives. She also oversees the team’s content marketing, consulting, and storytelling initiatives, working with staff to help support these efforts. With two decades in the media business, Rossi is active in the DC-area custom media community, and her work has been honored by Association Media & Publishing, Association TRENDS, the Communicator Awards, and many others. Rossi graduated cum laude from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University and earned her master’s degree in public relations and corporate communications at Georgetown University.
Senior Art Director Janelle Welch is an award-winning graphic artist who directs Content Communicators’ design office, managing the creative process and development of all design projects, including custom media and magazines; animations and motion graphics; data visualizations and information graphics; publication redesigns, marketing materials and media kits; and direct-mail promotions, annual reports, and other collateral work. A talented designer who excels at quickly understanding the unique needs of each client and conveying them graphically, Welch has more than 25 years of experience in graphic arts, marketing, publication design, and e-publications design. She has a keen eye for marrying editorial content with art, her designs and redesigns of magazines, e-newsletters, and websites have been honored by Association Media & Publishing, the American Society of Business Publication Editors, FOLIO: magazine, and others.
Editorial/Production Associate and Writer Christine Umbrell provides editorial support and production oversight for magazines, e-newsletters, and other projects. She is an award-winning writer, experienced copy editor, reporter, and overall production manager. Umbrell has worked in research, content development, and production management and has significant experience working for several associations, including the American Industrial Hygiene Association, the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and the American Society for Association Executives. She graduated from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Writer and Content Strategist Michael Coleman is an award-winning journalist and communications consultant with more than two decades of experience writing about and advocating for local, state, and federal policy. A former Washington DC bureau chief for the Albuquerque Journal, Coleman’s news sense and ability to explain complex issues in a clear and engaging manner has earned him a reputation for developing content that people care about and want to share. Coleman’s communications work on behalf of a Public Citizen won a Texas statewide award in 2019, and he was part of the Austin American-Statesman’s reporting team named as a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for public service in 2023.
